good stopmotion software

what software do you use does it suck do you love it so much better than your previous software what stuff do you miss from your old software that you cant get in your new witch ones do you plan to get and why do you think your software rocks or sux?

I've been using iStopMotion for Mac the whole time. It's got all the basics needed for stopmotion and I think it works great.

Well I'm currently experimenting with programs, mostly freeware, and I (unfortunately) have a PC. I do like Helium Frog very much for capturing pictures, and you can export the pictures as individual photos (which is good for if you want to edit the photos with GIMP {which is also a great program}) or you can export them as a video file. I have several after effect software that I would like to try and make work, and hopefully I'll get Pinnacle to work out for me (costs quite a bit of money). And of course the ever-famous Audacity is what I use for recording lines.

like kcirb said HeliumFrog is great! and so is pinnacle i have pinnacle and it is a great program! I got mine with a pinnacle capture card not dazzle but another one but pinnacle is great for simple editing!

i love sony vegas HD9.0 its like final cut pro and istopmotion combined all in one place it renders in HD without going through loop holes it can overlay videos and detonation films works great with it you can clone and some of the smoothies animators use it such as moocj studios, mnmtwinz and more you should check it out!

a decent one is about $40 dollars for my version witch renders in HD with out goint through loop holes but for platuinum its $600 this is for the newset versions iwth is 8 through 9.

Is pinnicle free? Or is it like 100 dallors?

Unfortunately no. BUT you can find ways for getting it for free.

I use to use Helium Frog then i made a switch to Sam animation But everytime i export it it turns out bad Quality So i use Life cam Software which came with my camera
